For April, 86% of resident infections met criteria for antibiotic use! Your performance has increased by thirty-percent since January!

URINARY INFECTION SCREENING ASSESSMENT
The Urinary Infection Screening Assessment under the "Assmnts" tab in PCC should be completed BEFORE calling the Doctor when:

• You suspect a UTI based on symptoms.

          AND

• Urine Culture results come back.
  
  Cristina Sparrow will conduct audits to ensure this assessment is being completed. Since the assessment was created, Nurses have only used it 3 times. You should use it every time to make sure you are following antibiotic stewardship practices.
   

All Nurse-Aides have been retrained on gait belt use during transfers. We have stopped "hooking" our arms under the residents arm to lift them. All residents have been notified of this.
From now on, we will hold onto the gait belt, and not their arms. All residents who need a gait belt now have one.
If residents refuse to use their gait belt, please let management or therapy know so we can speak with them again.
